The VisualsSpeak team keeps growing as our community of users grows. We’re very fortunate to have a dedicated group of staff and contributors. The company is led by its two founders, Christine Martell and Tom Tiernan.
Christine Martell
For Christine, VisualsSpeak is the perfect match of education and experience. Christine earned a bachelor of fine arts in textiles at the Rhode Island School of Design and over the next decade, worked as an artist. Over that time, she frequently won awards for her work in a wide variety of venues across the United States.
Christine then earned a master’s degree in education from Portland State University, focusing her research on the benefits of visual communication as a training tool. She followed up on that degree with additional certifications in intercultural training, training management, and web-based/multimedia training.
Christine is an accomplished consultant, public speaker, and artist who brings more than 25 years of professional experience to VisualsSpeak.
Tom Tiernan
Tom began nurturing his passion for photography in the 1960s, and this calling has been an anchor point for him ever since. At VisualsSpeak, he is the chief photographer and plays a key role in the development of new products and services.
Tom brings a background of entrepreneurship as well, having successfully launched enterprises in both the retail and real estate sectors. He is heavily involved in the non-profit community as well, working with organizations working on international and social service issues.
Tom’s business acumen and artistic skill help infuse VisualsSpeak with his innovative leadership.
