The VisualsSpeak Method

Individual Exercise: This is how you facilitate a process where each individual creates an image in response to your prompt.

Place the four categories of photographs in a place accessible to everyone

State your prompt, which is based on your existing content and goals

Give people five minutes to choose and arrange images in response to the prompt

Give each person time to tell the story of what they created

This is what will happen in this process. People will get engaged and willingly participate. They will deepen their connections to their colleagues. Many ideas and insights will surface. The process will be perceived as having been fun and completely worth the time to do. You will be seen as a national hero and will live happily ever after.

Group Exercise: You can also facilitate a process where the whole group creates an image in response to your prompt. This is an especially good process after you do an individual exercise.

Give the team note cards, sticky notes, pens and pencils for an added bang

There is only one rule: Everyone must contribute something to the process

State your prompt, which is based on your existing content and goals

Give people 15-20 minutes to choose and arrange images in response to the prompt
