The Step by Step Process
“Every picture is worth a thousand words”
The VisualsSpeak process is different and much faster than clipping photos from magazines and creating a collage. The emphasis is on self-discovery and meaning, not on creating a pretty picture.
* VisualsSpeak engages a different part of the brain.
* Images have been tested and pre-selected for accessibility and effectiveness.
* It’s fast — there’s no cutting and pasting.
Using the VisualsSpeak ImageSet, trained facilitators help organizations and individuals solve problems and set new directions.

The Process
Step 1.
Each participant gets a 12″x18″ piece of paper to use as a background — a starting point and an anchor for the process.
You (the facilitator) select a framing question for the activity.
For example: ” Who are you and what do you bring to the team?” or
“What’s your vision for your group over the next two years?”
Step 2.
With the framing question in mind, participants quickly select the images they want to use to respond. Then they assemble the pictures on the background.
Step 3.
Each person describes what the collection of images means to him or her.
* some use literal descriptions
* some metaphoric
* some describe individual images
* others find meaning in the collection as a whole.
Step 4.
A trained facilitator leading the exercise may note overall impressions, connections and insights.
The facilitator might want to capture each of the photo arrangements with a digital camera, so participants can refer back to these arrangements later.
